A quieter kind of statement: soft, velvety color with a natural finish.
For many clients, the question isn’t whether to enhance the lips, but how much presence they want. A sheer wash can feel too quiet; a fully defined lip can feel like too much. Velvet Ombré was made for the space between — depth where it flatters most, softness everywhere else.
WHAT SETS IT APART
Most lip color goes on as a single, even tone. Velvet Ombré is built as a gradient: deeper at the border, sheer toward the center. The result reads as dimension rather than coverage — a soft berry gradient that shapes the lips without a hard edge. The finish is deliberately muted: velvety, not glossy, and wearable every day with or without other makeup.
THE THREE FINISHES
Nina’s menu offers three expressions of lip color. The Natural edit is the softest wash. The Lipstick look is the most defined. Velvet Ombré sits between them in spirit — more presence than a wash, less structure than a lipstick finish, with the gradient doing the shaping.
The right choice also depends on the lips themselves. Natural lip pigmentation varies, and the final color is always pigment plus the tone already in the lips; where lips carry deeper natural pigmentation, color correction comes before the final shade. Undertone matters too — warm, cool, and neutral undertones each pull pigment differently, which is why matching is done in person, never from a photo alone.
THE APPOINTMENT
Every appointment begins with a consultation, where finish, shade, and shape are decided together. The session runs about three hours, unhurried, so the gradient can be layered gradually — each pass deepening the border slightly while the center stays sheer. Numbing is medical-grade numbing cream; Nina does not use a dental block.
HEALING AND LONGEVITY
Lip blush heals in stages. The color first appears darker than the final result, then softens as the lips heal, and following the aftercare instructions protects that settling. A touch-up in the 6–12 week window refines the result once healing is complete. With that care, lip blush generally lasts 2–4 years before fading: a long-term enhancement, not a permanent one, so the color can evolve with your taste over time.
That staying power is also why the consultation matters more than the trend cycle — the goal is the shade that still looks right in two years, not just this season. Consultations are free right now, in person or virtual.
